Boardwalk Magic Vibes: My Disney Digs

After last trip’s unmet expectations with hotel selection, I wasn’t leaving our hotel stay in anyone else’s hands other than DISNEY. The totally retro, endlessly charming Boardwalk Disney Hotel, right in the heart of Walt Disney World Resort, to be exact! Despite the fact that they were in the middle of a reno, the place was still serving up vintage Atlantic seaside charm in spades. It was clear the Imagineers were grinding, making sure the vibe stayed on point for us visitors.

I initially picked the Boardwalk 'cause of the amazing discount on rooms, probably due to ongoing renovations, I was pleasantly surprised to discover the hotel rooms were totally adorbs, with tons of girly flair. We're talking pastel hues, Disney decor, and all-around magic vibes every second of my stay. I’m not sure if there’s a hotel that’s more “me” on property!

Flower Power at the International Flower & Garden Festival

WHAT I CAME FOR: The International Flower & Garden Festival at Epcot. As a girl who's all about that natural beauty (and a hardcore Disney fan, obvs), this event was a total mashup of my two loves. I mean, Disney characters brought to life in blooms? Count me in!

Happening from March to June every year, (I think they might start extending until July 4th weekend) I hit the sweet spot in April when everything was in full bloom! It was like walking into a Disney fairy tale with all the gorgeous flowers everywhere! Mickey, Elsa, all my faves, were just chilling there in technicolor floral glory. Seriously so beautiful, and butterflies were everywhere - bonussss. :D

But the festival isn’t just about flowers - the foodie scene is unmatched! With outdoor kitchens sprinkled throughout the park, I was chowing down on international bites as I hopped from one pavilion to the next. Flavors from around the world? Yes, please!

I die for the cute areas that are added and decorated in theme to enjoy your treats in every corner! Disney doesn’t leave a single stone unturned.

Riding the Digital Wave Tron Lightcycle

Somehow I picked the month Tron was opening to visit! Or was it by chance? ;) So, obviously, I needed to see what this rollercoaster had to offer. Luckily, I was able to get a Virtual Queue to on our day at MK. See my Tron Reel about VQ below.

Once you’re strapped onto your individual Lightcycle, you totally feel like you’re in the Tron universe, whizzing through a neon matrix of circuits and high-speed twists. Exhilarating? Check. Immersive? Double-check. A must for any adrenaline junkie hitting up Disney? You bet. Disclaimer.. If you have lash extensions, you’ll want to make sure you have your spoolie for after LOL.

Fine Art Flair

To top off the trip, I got to meet one of the raddest Disney artists at the Boardwalk, Dom Corona. I gotta admit, I had a major fangirl moment. But, even though I was totally shy and awkward, he was nothing but kind.

Meet the Artist, Dom Corona at my hotel!!!

As an art enthusiast, seeing Dom's work up close and personal was like stumbling upon pins you were searching for in the parks. His pieces totally nail that Disney magic, his uniquely cool style is so captivating! I’m definitely eyeing some pieces after that trip.

Check out more of his art here!

When I have a walk-in closet…

My Favorite Visit Yet!

Checking out Disney World in April 2023 was an epic experience. Perfect weather (only sunny days and clear blue skies), parks, new rides, and snacks for days. The Boardwalk Disney Hotel, the total flower power at the International Flower & Garden Festival, the rush of the Tron ride, and just munching my way through the parks mmmmm - I’ll be back!

-XO Rebecca
